Lexie is a 2010 black and white tobiano Friesian Sporthorse.  She is homozygous tobiano, which

is something we have waited a long time for.  To produce a homozygous tobiano Friesian Sporthorse,

a tobiano Friesian cross had to be bred to another tobiano sporthorse (in this case another Friesian sporthorse)

and both parents had to pass their tobiano gene onto the offspring, hence the homozygous tobiano. So

you can see that this filly was no accident, but the result of careful planning.  And, of course, we wanted

a homozygous tobiano Friesian sporthorse of exceptional quality for breeding purposes.  We were

thrilled when we found Anastasia Alexia (Lexie) in the summer of 2010.  She was everything we

had waited for!  In spite of this, we hesitated about buying her.  We had already started the process

of cutting back so we could retire in a few years.  So, buying a future broodmare that wouldn't

be ready to breed for three years just didn't seem to make sense.  But, in the end we decided that

she would make perfect sense in our move to produce less Friesian Sporthorses, but the few that

we do produce in the future will be rare and unique.  We will continue to produce exceptional blue roan

Friesian sporthorses and will add the unique tobiano Friesian sporthorses. We are very excited about

what the future holds!

Lexie's Sire

Lexie's Dam

Color of Knight (75% Friesian)

Interesting note: this stallion is a grandson of the great Friesian, Thor, who is the first Friesian we encountered many years ago at the Springfield Equine Affaire.  We were so impressed with Thor that we vowed to own a Friesian stallion someday!

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Black Tai Affair (50% Friesian)

I watched, and admired, this mare for a few years and was thrilled when I saw that she is the dam of the beautiful filly that I had already fallen in love with!

Lexie will be bred to Alex in the spring of 2013 for a guaranteed tobiano 81.5% Friesian.  This foal promises to be spectacular!

In the meantime she will be allowed to enjoy her youth, grow up slowly, and attend ground manner school.
