Sapphire is a 2006 Friesian/appendix quarter horse cross that we are very proud to have produced here at Prairie Wind Ranch. Her sire is Alex and her dam is our beautiful quarter horse/thoroughbred cross blue roan mare, Docs Blue Chex Dr (aka Sox). We have been enamored with Sapphire since she was born which is why we decided that she should remain here with us. She was bred to a 1st premium Friesian stallion in 2009 and blessed us with a beautiful blue roan 3/4 Friesian filly in 2010. (photos below) We plan to rebreed her to the same stallion in 2011.

Two year old: It just doesn't get any prettier!
Sapphire gave birth to a stunning blue roan 3/4 Friesian in 2010. This filly was absolutely gorgeous and is now living in Massachusetts with Richard and Melissa. Photos below:
