The 2010 foals are available! We don't have a lot of great photos yet, but we have had some inquiries into our 2010 foal crop, so we are listing them now and will add photos in the coming weeks.  We have three available right now and will have one more later in the summer.  We probably say this every year, but we feel the 2010 foals are some of the best we have ever had.

We feel that our horses are priced below their market value, but we are taking into consideration transport costs from our remote area and the current economy.  We take pride in the fact that many of our customers are repeat buyers and they stay in touch because they know we genuinely care about their satisfaction and the continued well-being of the horses we sell.

All of our foals are registered with the Friesian Sport Horse Registry.  They are handled regularly and will have graduated from Kindergarten by the time they are ready to leave.  This includes halter broke, stand tied, load and haul in trailer, stand quietly for farrier and grooming, and be exposed to many things such as dogs, ATV, lawn mowers, pasture life with other horses, etc.  We repeatedly receive reports from new owners that they are amazed at how calm and relaxed their foal is when it arrives at their location.  We believe early, positive exposure to a variety of environments is the key to a well adjusted youngster.  We also have a satisfaction guarantee - if you don't love your Prairie Wind horse, send it back to us!  It is that simple.  We take pride that we have never had a customer who didn't love their horse!

NOTE: As you may already know, we seriously curtailed our breeding in 2007 in response to the over saturation of the Friesian cross market. We are planning to do the same in 2010 as the horse market is struggling right now and we don't want to add to the excess of horses.  So, we will only have one or two horses to offer for sale in 2011.

NEW 6-13-10:  We are now offering a $500 shipping discount on any Prairie Wind horse purchased at full asking price! You can choose how you want to apply that discount to suit your situation.

Alex ut de Finnen x Jodie

We are just amazed at how nice this filly is becoming!  She is literally blossoming before our eyes and we are thrilled at the transformation that is taking place!  She not only looks beautiful, but she is very sweet and nice to work with.  At only nine months old she is stunning in her beauty, has fantastic conformation, has a mental maturity beyond her age and is a great mover!  She is going to be an incredible mare when she matures.  We have seen Friesian/Shire crosses advertised for almost three times this price and they aren't as pretty as this girl.  Her bloodlines are the best of both breeds and she got all the beauty and quiet sensibility that you could wish for.   We expect this filly will mature at around 17 hands and will be more refined than most draft crosses you see and the Friesian influence is very evident in how she looks, acts and moves.

    Prairie Ballerina

Alex ut de Finnen x Docs Blue Chex DR                $3150 ($2650 w/ship disc)                Foaled 5-4-10

This sweet black filly was named Ballerina (Bali) because her prance is just so soft and delicate.  She is fun to watch and fun to spend time with.  She is more laid back than the other two fillies and loves to just hang out with people.  She will politely ask to be scratched and then will stand like a statue while you lavish her with attention.  And when you are done, she understands and doesn't push for more.  She is very accepting and we can do almost anything with her out in the pasture including pick up her feet.  With her super quiet demeanor she will make someone a great kid or husband horse, or a perfect horse for the less experienced rider. She will mature at 16.1 to 16.3 hands.

Eise Van't Oost x Prairie Sapphire       $5800   ($5300 w/ship disc)         Foaled 5-12-10

Our first blue roan 3/4 Friesian!  We have been planning and hoping for this perfect filly for such a long time, and she is finally here!  From the time we decided that Sapphire was just too nice to part with, we have planned to breed her to a nice purebred Friesian and hope for a blue roan 3/4 Friesian.  In the summer of 2009 we bred Sapphire to a first premium FPS stallion from Texas and waited.  On May 12, 2010, Sapphire blessed us with a beautiful filly that was just perfect!  And, we soon discovered that we were blessed even further with the color we had been hoping for: Blue Roan!  We are so excited.  It is going to be extremely difficult to part with Blue Ice, but she was born and bred to shine and she needs to venture out into the world to do that.  We have seen ads for blue roan Friesians where the true color is dubious.  We guarantee that this filly is true blue roan and she will be the same gorgeous shade that her mother is.  And she will have even more of the Friesian flair to make her a head turner.  To top it off she is bold, very intelligent, has a fantastic muscular conformation.  She really is the whole package for the discriminating horse owner. This filly will be weaned and graduated from kindergarten (see above) in mid-September.  The above price is the pre-weaning price.  After weaning when she has shed out blue, her price will likely increase to $7500 which reflects how rare she is.   7-03-10 Update: This filly just keeps getting better and better - and surpassing even our high expectations!  We just can't say enough about how special this girl is - and will be.  She really has everything you could want in a performance horse, a show stopper and a best friend.

1st row photos taken 05-29-10, 2nd row 6-12-10, 3rd & 4th rows 7-03-10 (6 wks old)

Alex ut de Finnen x Chantilly Lace       $3350 ($2850 w/ship disc)            Foaled 5-14-10

The first thing we said when this filly was born was "Look at those legs!"  We've had some long legged foals before, but I think she takes the prize for the longest.  Lacey and Alex are both 16.3, so Diva should be the same when she matures, but she may be more refined with more leg.   She has a wonderful personality and shows promise of being very showy and athletic.  She is also a 3/4 Friesian, so she will have plenty of presence and movement!  Diva would make an excellent jumper or dressage prospect.  Note 7-4-10: Just received new photos (bottom row) of Lacey's 2009 filly who is lovingly owned by Toni in Arizona. She is just barely one year old in these photos! (the buckskin is two years old)  Simply stunning! This is a preview of what Diva will look like.
