Due to the over saturation of the
Friesian cross market in recent years, we have limited the number of mares we
breed each year. And, we have stopped breeding to outside mares.
But, we have had several requests to once again offer a variety of in-utero
offspring for sale. We did this in 2008 for the 2009 foal crop, and they
sold very quickly. We enjoyed knowing in advance that these babies were
going to good homes. And, the new owners enjoyed sharing in the
anticipation of the birth, mare updates, etc. We did not offer this option
in the past two years because we just weren't breeding enough mares to have
anything to offer. Most of our breedings in recent years have been by special
request.
But, now we are responding to
the numerous requests we have received, and we are breeding a few more mares and
offering all of the offspring at reduced in-utero prices. Yes, even
Sapphire's! For more
information on the in-utero buying process, click
here.
We feel that our horses are priced below their market value, but we are
taking into consideration transport costs from our remote area and the current
economy.
We take pride in the fact that many
of our customers are repeat buyers and they stay in touch because they know we
genuinely care about their satisfaction and the
continued well-being of the
horses we sell.

2011 Foals

Lacy is a gorgeous
Friesian/thoroughbred cross that is amazingly quiet and delightful to work
with. She is our top trail riding horse along with our stallion, Alex.
She has consistently produced outstanding 3/4 Friesian crosses, but this
time she has really perfected her production technique! This colt is
as close to a purebred as we have ever seen, and we have seen hundreds.
He has all of the characteristics that you want in a Friesian cross: smart,
loves people, extremely handsome, fantastic conformation and courageous.
His movement is consistently jaw dropping - not just when provoked. We
are pricing him well below what we feel he is worth, but we realize that
there are many black Friesian crosses on the market. Eclypse will be
ready to go to his new home in mid-September.

We chose to retain Sapphire
(Alex x Sox) because she represents the excellence that we strive for as
breeders. When the time came to breed Sapphire, we considered several nice
Friesian stallions, and Ice Man rose to the top of the list. When Prairie
Blue Ice was born, we fell in love instantly. She was not only outstanding
in conformation, intelligence and personality, but she was a blue roan filly!
We had a lot of excited buyers in competition for Prairie Blue Ice and we had a
hard time letting her go. She is at a wonderful home in Massachusetts
where she will be loved and shown - just what we hoped for. Many photos of
Blue Ice available if you would like more evidence of what this cross produces.
We are excited to announce that
Sapphire is bred back to Ice Man and we are hoping for a repeat performance!
Her 3/4 Friesian foal is due the first week in April, 2012. We will be
testing the gender of the in-utero foal in late summer and the in-utero price
may increase at that time.

When we began our search for top
quality Shire mares and gypsy stallions to produce quality drum foals, we had no
idea the journey would be so long and arduous. But, we were determined
that we would not compromise on quality. We began this process in the
spring of 2006 and our first drum filly was born in 2010. We were so
overwhelmed by the quality of this filly, that all the time and effort were
suddenly well worth it. And, the filly's new owners must have thought so,
too, because they have purchased the 2012 drum foal in-utero!

Maggie has produced a roan foal
100% of the time and blue roan 100% of the time (8 out of 8) when bred to a
homozygous black stallion. So, we strongly suspect that she is homozygous
roan.
JULY 4, 2011 UPDATE: WE
HAVE THE COLOR TEST RESULTS FROM UCD AND MAGGIE IS HOMOZYGOUS ROAN!
THAT MEANS HER 2012 FRIESIAN CROSS
FOAL IS GUARANTEED TO BE BLUE ROAN!
Since her amazing blue roan
Friesian cross foals are so addicting, Maggie was bred almost every year for
awhile. So, we decided to retire her early at the age of 16. But, she has had a couple of years
off from breeding and she is in fantastic condition. Watching her gallop
and play in the pasture made us question our decision to retire her. She
is only 18 this year, so we have decided to pull Maggie out of retirement.
Her blue roan Friesian cross foals have always been in high demand, so we are
excited to be able to offer this in-utero
guaranteed blue roan foal at a reduced price.
Now that we know Maggie is homozygous roan, we will definitely do
fetal sexing on this foal. So, if this foal isn't snatched up by late
summer, we will be able to update this offering with color and gender!
The price may increase with the addition of that information, so wait at your
own risk.
